Young parents raising young children are the theme of this group who generally rent an apartment or community type of housing. Incomes are quite low, ranging below $40,000, likely due to low employment, limited educations and a predominance of single parent families. They find employment as cashiers, cooks, child and home support workers or as trades' helpers in primary industries. Although, their economic situation may deter significant spending, they are resourceful and are busy accumulating life experiences! Living in larger households of six or more people, they share resources. Unique to this group of young Canadians is the presence of First Nations, Mtis and Inuit people where Pentecostal and Aboriginal spirituality provide them strong cultural bonds and an allegiance to their communities.
