LJM Developments Commits $100,000 Towards Public Art in the City of Hamilton

Hamilton – March 13th 2017: It's been a year of giving so far for the Burlington based developer, LJM Developments. The condominium builder announced an unprecedented donation of a condo to Habitat for Humanity in February and is now following up with another donation, this time toward public art.

LJM Developments is committing to a contribution of $100,000 towards the public art in the King Street Parkette. The parkette is located at the Southeast corner of King Street East and Highway No. 8. The site is located at the intersection of two of the area’s historic roads, just east of the historic center of Stoney Creek.

“We have come a long way as an organization and were warmly welcomed by the Burlington, Grimsby, and Hamilton municipalities and want to commit our efforts and interest in supporting our communities where we undertake developments” said Liaquat Mian, CEO of LJM Developments.

The area is currently seeing some new high density development and there is an opportunity for more pedestrians to take advantage of green space. An artwork could be functional or aesthetic according to the developer.

“It could recall the former agricultural character of the area or the historic travel routes” added Mian.

LJM also donated toward the beautification of downtown Grimsby last year to uplift the downtown area’s public flower displays, which was well received by the town. Looking forward, the developer aims to support causes related to affordable housing, poverty reduction, betterment of civic and public areas, education, and women’s empowerment.
