Our Story

Today Geranium Homes is the building division of Geranium Corporation. In the 1990’s Mario Giampietri, President, joined the Geranium team, and the company became one of the few fully integrated land development and building organizations in Ontario. A team of professionals whose expertise encompasses land acquisition, planning and process, engineering and servicing, product design and new home construction ensures that each Geranium community comes to fruition as the result of a shared vision – one of responsible development.

Geranium Homes has assembled an impressive portfolio of land holdings, and continues to develop and build many of Southern Ontario’s most coveted communities.

Broad in scope and imagination, future projects range from Big Bay Point, a magnificent recreational village and marina on Lake Simcoe, to a new live/work/play “village” in Bradford/Bond Head, to infill communities of several hundred homes in the greater Barrie area. In 2009, Geranium Homes completed At Home in Bowmanville – an in-town community of fully detached homes on 40’ and 50’ lots. Currently, Geranium is building Cardinal Point, an extremely successful, master-planned ravine community in Stouffville; and is nearing completion at Port Hope Heritage, a bungalow community of 350 homes in Port Hope.

In the past 30 years, Geranium Homes has built more than 7,000 homes in family-oriented communities across Southern Ontario. The company has been guided by the principals of responsible development and a vision that helps to create communities that are meticulously planned, expertly executed and designed with sensitivity and respect for the environment and for the families who will live in them. In 2009, Geranium introduced Geranium “Green” the company’s own exacting construction program which utilizes techniques and materials that promote sustainable building practices in the production of attractive, durable and energy-saving homes. In 2010 the company expanded their mandate to continue with their own stringent building standards while also committing to build to ENERGY STAR® for New Homes performance levels in every new community.

One of the most important benefits of buying a new home is the comprehensive warranty program that comes with your home. Geranium Homes has been registeres with Tarion Warrenty Corporation ( formerly Ontario New Home Warrenty Program - ONWHP ) since 1985 and has enjoyed recognition as a member in good standing over this time.

Buyers have peace of mind with a thorough pre-delivery inspection process to identify any problems that require attention. This report is further supported by a 30-Day inspection report that you, the homeowner, complete and submit to our qualified Customer Service Staff 30 days after move-in. Finally a year-end inspection form is submitted at, or within 30 days prior to, the first anniversary of your closing date. The homeowner is protected by a one-year warrenty covering defects in workmanship and materials; a two-year warrenty covering electrical, plumbing and heating delivery and distribution system, water penetration through the building enelope and foundation; and a seven year warranty covering major structural defects.

Geranium Homes is also a long standing member of BILD and a active participant in the many aspects of this industry organization.
